RecycleMania 2017!

RECYCLE FOR THE WIN
On Sunday, Feb. 5, the 2017 RecycleMania competition will begin and run for eight weeks.

Our goal is  #1 in Virginia, and top 10 Nationally!

UMW begins its 9th year in the national competition that encourages waste reduction and recycling on campuses nationwide.

We will face off in in the Stephen K Gaski Per Capita Classic, through April 1, to see which college recycles the most on a per capita basis. Glass, aluminum, plastic, mixed paper and cardboard all count toward our recycling goals.

Over 300 schools, including 4.5 million students and 1.1 million faculty and staff, participating in 48 states, the District of Columbia and Canada compete for the rights to declare recycling domination!

Weekly rankings, posted at http://recyclemaniacs.org/scoreboard will track our progress and rally faculty, staff and students to improve their recycling habits and win against rival colleges.
