UMW Ecology Club

At UMW, we are lucky to have a dedicated group of students working to make our campus a more sustainable one. Find out how your  club can get involved here!

Ecology Club-The Ecology Club is the only club/organization focused on environmental work at UMW. This group of students work not only on a campus level, but at a regional and national level as well. The club works to create environmental change, while also learning about current environmental issues. They has traveled to National Power Shift, Virginia Power Shift, the Tar Sands Rally, and Appalachia Rising. The Ecology Club has been down to Richmond to lobby our state government, and to Wise County Virginia to view mountaintop removal mining first hand. If you are interested in joining this group, come to one of their meetings! They meet every Thursday at 9 pm in the Red Room.

Senate Sustainability Committee- This group works to identify and address sustainability issues that effect students on campus through the student government. The Sustainability Committee also works closely with the Sustainability Office. For more information, contact Drema Khraibani at dkhraiba@mail.umw.edu.
